March 1st, 2013: Portfolio Meeting and Snakes!

Last month's 4-H meeting was a huge success! Even though the rain made riding impossible, everyone had a blast. Thanks to everyone who came, cooked and hosted!

Last meeting saw a lot of newcomers. The group began work on their 4-H portfolios and talked about what projects and activities interested them. We also elected a new secretary and began some preliminary planning for a hippology team! All 4-H members were e-mailed a document with February's 4-H "meeting minutes" which contains further details. If you did NOT receive such an e-mail, please send us an e-mail to let us know.

Mar. 5th: 4-H Portfolio Meeting
Date: Tuesday, March 5th 6:30 PM-8:00 PM
Location: Berkeley County Administration Building (Multi-Purpose Room)

Details:

Both members and adults invited to attend. Youth attendees are to bring pictures of themselves working with their animal project.

Mar. 6th: Snake Awareness Presentation
Date: Wednesday, March 6th, 6 PM-8 PM
Location: Charleston COunty Rescue Squad Headquarters
2521 Rescue Drive
North Charleston, S.C., 29405
Details:

Presentation on snakes indigenous to South Carolina, particularly the Low Country. Venomous as well as the non-venomous species will be covered. There will be live snakes of both types present. Venomous snakes will be handled only by the presenter or his staff. Non-venomous may be handled at the discretion of presenter. Venomous snakes will be contained in an escape proof presentation box. If you decide to interact with the non-venomous snakes there will be a liability waiver for you to fill out.

February 13th, 2013: 4-H February Meeting

Mark your calendars! The Graymour Dorchester County 4-H Group is meeting on February 22nd at 6 PM at the Graymour Stables Facilities. There will be party games, smores, horse movies and other fun stuff afterwards!
